The recordings for our new album "Burning Bridges" are now underway. Andy is already busy recording the drums. "May the burning bridges light the way"... We are looking forward to finally make this album happen! We've come up with our own recording method; more on that some another time. :)
A big thank you to everyone who was out in the streets for the 1st of May, and still had the energy to rock the house with us. We even witnessed a brief surprise appearance by Keith with Autozynik. :)
Our first show since the beginning of the pandemic, packed with new songs, was a lot of fun!
It is an honor and a pleasure to announce that there are four of us again. None other than Peter, former frontman and singer of Pferd des Gärtners, officially joined the band today after two great rehearsals. It's a lot of fun to work with him on new and old songs, as well as everything around it. We are thrilled. We hope you are too. :)
Sad as we were in the beginning that we had to relocate, we are looking forward to our new rehearsal room in Munich- Milbertshofen, with some shows to come! Happy New Year 2019 everyone!
With English-language rock, the band Grub refer to the Theseus paradox in their album "Ship of Theseus", which questions whether a ship in which all components have been replaced over a long period of time is still the same ship. The artwork of the record is also fitting. In the track "Grub'n'Roll", the four musicians show that they are serious about rock. It pushes straight ahead and is simply fun! The cool, gruff bass sound and melodic guitar solos, which sometimes accompany the singer in the background and are not always in the foreground, as in the track "Monkey Island", are striking. The contrast to this is "Speak to me", where bass and guitar are in the foreground and are characterised by a somewhat slower tempo. You have to take your time with "The Kraken", 13 minutes to be precise. Starting with a gloomy intro, supplemented with screeching guitar sounds and the deep vocals as the song progresses, the song loses tempo in the middle and changes completely with a clear guitar. Very difficult to describe, our tip: definitely listen to it yourself!
The last track "Ship of Theseus", which is instrumentally convincing, has a recognisable value and is therefore a great plus point for the album. Not exactly characteristic of an outro, but it rounds off the album nicely and listeners have the opportunity to form their own thoughts about the album's message and songs. Take your time, it will be worth it!

Almost done with our recordings for the upcoming Album "The Ship of Theseus": Everybody got his check mark!
Original work instruction for "the Kraken". Pay attention to the part where Andy has to leave the drumkit in order to get him a beer: "Andy Bierholen".
